INNOVATIVE FEATURES YIELDS FANTASTIC FINISH MOWER!
August 10, 2006-Alamo Group® has today announced the introduction of the new Turbo™ Series finish mowers from Rhino®. Each new Rhino Turbo Series finishing mower starts with innovative features to give you the fantastic finish you expect in your mowing jobs. Available in mowing widths of 60", 72", 84" and 100", the Turbo Series (TM) is designed to make your mowing experience easier and better than ever before. "When we began the Turbo Series project we decided to make a mower that would be easier to use than those already on the market and that would also improve mowing efficiency. Simply put, we wanted to design a mower that was different and better than what was currently available, and the TM Series meets and exceeds that goal", according to Terry Engelke, Rhino Product Manager.Innovative features start at the front of the mower. A floating CAT I three-point, quick hitch compatible hitch is standard allowing fast and easy attachment to the tractor and excellent ground following characteristics. "As far as we know this is a first to the finishing mower market", adds Engelke. The simple no-tool cutting height adjustment is another innovation to simplify operation. A single removable pin and a single adjustable height bushing at each tire and wheel are all that is changed to adjust the mowing height. There is no more need to "juggle" four or five greasy spacers at each wheel or worry about the caster fork assembly falling out either. It's never been simpler or cleaner.
Mowing efficiency and performance has been improved by the redesigned deeper deck, redesigned blades and increased blade tip speeds. Overall mowing performance is better due to, in part, the large diameter caster tires that are standard. The larger tires help smooth out the bumps resulting in a smoother cut. Finally, other new features include a spring loaded belt idler for increased belt life and a flip up gearbox mount allowing easier access to the belt and sheave system if needed.

Including the models 148, 160, 172 and 184 in cutting widths of 48", 60", 72" and 84"respectivley, the new 100 Series is designed with the weekend farmer or rancher, or those needing to complete small scale utility grass, weed, or light brush cutting applications."Just as in some of our other mowing markets the potential owner in this market is demanding more from their cutter. First of all the 100 Series is easy to use. The cutters are available with a quick hitch compatible three-point hitch making attachment to the tractor a snap. To deliver an impressive new look and reduce material build up, the deck has been designed with robust bracing and on the Model 160 through 184 is domed front to rear and side to side.
A lot of thought also went into the design to provide an excellent cut. All 100 Series cutters feature a smooth, obstruction-free underside of the deck to allow better material flow through the cutting chamber. As a result, material is less likely to build up and there are fewer places for premature corrosion of the deck to begin. The side skirt depth has been increased considerably over previous models, front and rear safety guarding has been redesigned, the amount of updraft in the blades has been increased and on the models 160 and 184 the blade tip speed has been increased all in an effort to provide a cleaner cut.

NEW TOUGH 8' ROTARY CUTTER FROM RHINO
August 10, 2006-Rhino is proud to introduce the newest addition to their multi-spindle cutter line-up, the Turbo™ 96. This is not your average 8' cutter. In fact, it would be very difficult to find another 8' cutter that could equal the ruggedness and performance of the Turbo 96."The Turbo 96 is the result of our goal of making a better eight-foot cutter than what was currently on the market", says Terry Engelke, Rhino Product Manager. The Turbo 96 starts with a patented domed deck. The design incorporates two deck sheets. The lower sheet takes the dents and dings experienced while mowing, and the domed top sheet maintains a "new" look and helps minimize material build up on top.
Cutting and overall performance were a main focus in the design process as well. The deck is a full 1" deeper than previous models to handle larger volumes of material more easily. Also, blade tip speeds are over 10% faster (540 RPM unit) than previous models to ensure a much cleaner cut. The gearboxes and the side drive system were redesigned for more reliable performance. The exclusive 2-1/2" maximum cut capacity rating and the Turbo™ 96's combination of the 120 HP center and 110 HP outer gearboxes place this machine at the very top of its class in the industry.

NEW LINE OF RHINO® DISC MOWERS
August 10, 2006-Rhino recently introduced a new line of heavy-duty gear drive disc mowers to the market. The line includes three models, the DM5, DM6 and DM7 featuring cutting widths of 82", 95" and 112" respectively. They are an excellent value and are designed to increase your grass hay mowing productivity."The new DM series maintains the excellent performance level of our previous line of disc mowers, but at a more competitive price", says Terry Engelke, Rhino Product Manager.
The mowers feature a reinforced gear drive cutter bar, hardened discs, large reversible blades, and an adjustable outer swath wheel as standard equipment. The CAT I-II three-point hitch has built in offset capabilities for use on larger tractors. Hydraulic folding is standard and the unit features spring cushioning to soften the shock loads when the unit is put into the transport position.
Other standard items include replaceable pivot bushings at the gearbox for longer wear, a Cat 4 driveline and four 5V drive belts to deliver top performance in lush conditions, and a cutter bar safety curtain for greater operator safety.
